Founder’s Day, April 17th

On Thursday, April 17th, the Dallas Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi gathered to celebrate 147 years of our fraternity.  We enjoyed a wonderful program and luncheon at the Dallas Country Club to celebrate the day.  Many thanks to our Founders Day Chairs, Sally Crawford, Laura Kellogg and Nell Taylor for hosting this very special event.  There were eleven lovely Golden Arrow alums who were honored with wine carnations and pinned by their chosen Pi Phi in a Pinning Ceremony.

Our Awards Committee Chair, Paula Davis, did an outstanding job of announcing and introducing our Dallas Alumnae Club award winners for this year.  They are:

Community Service Award - Barbara Hunt Crow

Evelyn Peters Kyle Angel Award - Sally Sewell Wightman

Emma Harper Turner Leadership Award - JoAnne Bisso Moore

Carolyn Helman Lichtenberg Crest Award - Prissy Davis Gravely

Yong Alumna Achievement Award - Mindy Lee Morse

Texas Beta Actives joined in the celebration by conducting the candle lighting ceremony in honor of our 12 founders.  As we wrap up this year of the Dallas Alumnae Club, Linda Yates, outgoing President, installed Kathy Kelley as the new President for 2014-2015.

Pink Party, February 13th

Our annual Tasting Party, known as our "Pink Party" was held at the home of Simone Howell on February 13th.  This fun and extremely creative party was hosted by Simone Howell and Martha Sheeder.  There were shades of pink everywhere - including table linens, chair angel wings, flowers and ribbons.  Everyone had a great time visiting with Pi Phi sisters, eating the wonderful homemade baked ziti, and the big surprise was an old fashioned cookie shine.  It was a wonderfully fun evening!

Christmas Tea, December 17th

The Dallas Arboretum DeGolyer Estate was the location of our fabulous ChristmasTea held on December 17th.  The lovely estate home was exquisitely decorated by angels of all types and sizes throughout every room.  There were hundreds of these lovely angels, all donated by Pi Phi alumnae.  It was sight to behold and the display was open to the public throughout the holiday season.  Many thanks to our Christmas Tea Chairs, Clemmie Bernet, Jenny Galbraith and Charlyn Holmes for hosting this lovely event for our Alumnae Club members.  It was a fun and festive way to celebrate the holidays with Pi Phi sisters, grandmothers, mothers and daughters!
