On Friday, April 26th, the Dallas Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi gathered for a Founders’ Day celebration at the Dallas Country Club. Five outstanding women were presented with the 2019 Pi Phi annual awards. They are:

The 2017 Pi Phi award recipients were honored and presented with the annual awards. They are:
On Thursday, April 22th, the Dallas Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi gathered to celebrate 149 years of our fraternity at the Dallas Country Club. The 2016 Pi Phi award recipients were honored and presented with the annual awards.
Ruth’s greatest philanthropic interests include her alma mater Southern Methodist University (SMU), the Salvation Army and the United Way. Ruth has served on SMU’s Board of Trustees since 1968, and she was the first woman to ever chair that board. In other firsts, Ruth was the first woman to serve on and chair the Salvation Army Dallas Advisory Board. She was also the first woman to be elected to the board of Goodwill Industries and serve as vice president of the Goodwill Foundation. She is one of the few American recipients of the Order of Distinguished Honorary Service, presented to her by the General of The Salvation Army Board in London.
Ruth has been honored many times for her philanthropic work. Some of her most notable honors include being voted the #1 Philanthropist in the Nation by the National Society of Fundraising Executives, being selected as Outstanding Trustee in the Nation by the Association of Governing Boards of Colleges and Universities, and she is a recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Award from the Smithsonian. President George W. Bush appointed Ruth to the Library of Congress Trust, and Secretary of State Colin Powell appointed her to the U.S. Commission to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2004.
"It is with great pride and joy we honor Ruth for her incredible charitable work,” said Pi Beta Phi President Paula Shepherd. “Ruth has lived an extraordinary life and has given back to her communities every step of the way. Ruth embodies Pi Phi’s value of philanthropic service to others, and we could not be more proud of what she has accomplished.”

The Dallas Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi celebrated Founders' Day April 18, 2013 at the SMU chapter house. While celebrating 146 years, the 2013 Pi Phi award recipients were honored and presented with the annual awards.

The Carolyn Helman Lichtenburg Crest Award honors distinguished alumnae for their outstanding professional or community service. The Dallas Alumnae Club’s nominee, Clare Chaney, won this prestigious national award.
The Dallas Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi celebrated Founders' Day April 23, 2010 at the SMU chapter house. Ring Ching for 143 years!! During the celebration, the 2010 Pi Phi award recipients were honored and presented with the annual awards.
The Carolyn Helman Lichtenburg Crest Award honors distinguished alumnae for their outstanding professional or community service. The Dallas Alumnae Club’s nominee, Jo Marie Lilly, won this prestigious national award.
Jo Marie worked side by side with Roger Horchow as the nationally acclaimed Horchow Mail Order Catalogue was transformed from the great vision of one man to the mailboxes of millions. Mr. Horchow credits Jo Marie for recognizing the potential growth of the mail order industry. In addition to her professional success, Jo Marie has participated in many of the most significant civic and charitable organizations benefiting the Dallas area arts community. If that isn’t enough, Jo Marie has always given career support to Pi Phis and women in general.
Jo Marie Lilly is a brilliant shining example of Pi Phi Star Power! Thank you Jo Marie!!!
