Welcome new and returning Shining Arrows!
It is a true honor to serve as President of the Pi Phi Shining Arrows group within the Alumnae Club. Whether you are a returning member or new to our group, I invite you to join this fun and diverse group of women and connect with friends both old and new!
Why is our group called “Shining Arrows”? We are all moving in various directions in life but know that time with other Pi Phi’s is always fun and very rewarding. We are single, married, with-kids, without-kids, career-oriented, stay-at-homers… you get the idea. From after-work happy hours to activities with your little ones, the Shining Arrows group is fun for all.
I was born and raised in Austin and attended The University of Texas at Austin where I pledged Pi Beta Phi. After undergrad, I moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for the federal government for three years before coming home to get my Masters in Public Affairs at the LBJ School (also at UT Austin!). I then moved to Dallas and started my career with Standard & Poor’s (S&P). I have now worked there over 12 years and still love it! My husband and I married in 2015, and our daughter, Libby, was born the next year. Even though I have lived in Dallas since 2007, I did not become involved with the Alumnae Club until after becoming a mom. Looking back, I missed out on so much! So many of my close friends are Pi Phi’s who I didn’t reconnect with or meet until I joined the Dallas Alumnae Club. I am so proud to be a Pi Phi and hope that you will join us for friendship, activities and sisterhood this year!
I look forward to getting to know you!
Kate Choban Boatright
Who are we?
Shining Arrows members are primarily between the ages of 25 and 45. We are married, unmarried, with and without young children, career women getting new businesses off and running, stay-at-home moms, and multi-tasking experts for all that life brings at this stage! We aim to plan fun events to bring friends and our families together.
What do we do?
Our group meets throughout the year. The Shining Arrows group has many fun activities for young mothers and professionals, as well as opportunities to connect with new friends and reconnect with college friends.
If you are interested in getting involved with Pi Phi, reconnecting with college friends, or making new friendships, please join us at one of our many events. We look forward to having another successful year and would love to have new members celebrate the essence of Pi Phi with us.
If you are interested in learning more before you sign up, or would like to meet up with a Shining Arrows group member before attending an event, please contact our President, Kate Boatright.
