Dallas Pi Beta Phi Philanthropies
In 1985, our Alumnae Club established the non-profit organization, Dallas Pi Beta Phi Philanthropies, for sharing our gifts with the Dallas community. We support various organizations and programs promoting literacy, knowing that the key to a successful life is a strong foundation in reading and education. We are incorporated in the State of Texas and approved as a charitable organization with a 501(c)(3) status. The Dallas Pi Beta Phi Philanthropies organization receives and maintains funds in accordance with the IRS regulations and all contributions to our Philanthropies organization are tax deductible.
Our key fundraising efforts include the Pi Beta Phi Style Show as well as our bi-annual “Ungala,” held in the years we don’t have our Style Show. The list of beneficiaries is very long, but we are proud to say that over the years, we have granted well over $1,300,000 to agencies and programs promoting education and, more specifically, literacy for children and adults.
We are excited to continue our tradition of giving to those agencies in Dallas County that inspire readers, spark imaginations and ignite the desire to learn! Beneficiaries receiving proceeds from Dallas Pi Beta Phi Philanthropies in recent years include, but are not limited to, the following list:
Aberg Center for Literacy ¨ Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy
